Lanyon

Lanyon, Iowa holds a pivotal place in the history of the Lindgren family. This page will highlight stories, photographs, and records of Lanyon places and people. Lanyon was a prominent part of the recollections of the children of Amy and Frank Lindgren as they wrote about growing up in Iowa.

Fortunately one of our relatives, Jonathan Roos, left Lanyon to become a well regarded journalist with the Des Moines Register. In 1984 he wrote about Lanyon history. A page from the Register, October 9, 1984, was retained in the collection of artifacts left by Obed Lindgren. His son Steve provided an iPhone picture of this page.

The article’s author, Jonathan Roos is pictured in the lower right. If you want to obtain a readable copy of this article, perhaps a public library will be able to obtain a PDF copy for you to read.
